What was in this mornings edition of The Farmers Club.

• Today, we release the Ken Solly Podcast, part two. We run through Ken's sayings, which are droplets of wisdom and genius. They are things he has observed over the years that just keep repeating themselves. We also dive into the business of Farming. We also cover off on Ken's great passion, the Sheep industry and what the future looks like there.

• It was very brave of Ken to delve into his struggles with mental health and how he had a bunch of negative things happen to him all at once. He talks about how he turned those negatives into positive outcomes. It's pretty deep stuff.

• What attracts you to Agriculture and Farming? For me, it's because there is so much going on, and because of that, there is never a dull moment. I think in a way, we are sorta lucky to have uncontrollables like the weather and markets because we have to build a business around that, and it's a great challenge. It's not like working in a factory or office.

• We relayed an interesting story of where the term Horsepower came from. It stems back from the 18 hundreds and there is a great lesson we can learn about how the term was coined. We wrote about it today.

• How do we beat inflation? This is another one of Ken Solly's theories, and it's one I have never thought of before. It's so interesting. We write about it today.

• Death by numbers. I don't know about you, but I see a big spreadsheet of numbers and I switch off. One Farmer has developed an AI (artificial intelligence) model using ASBVs and his most desirable traits to firstly determine which stud to buy his Rams from and then which Rams to buy in the auction. It was pretty impressive, according to the studmaster. We wrote about how he did it today. Is this the future of Ram and Bull catalogues? Rather than all those numbers. You choose the Rams that are going to work best by using AI.
