Kate Burke podcast preview - Kate is ready to distribute her second book, which is called "Succession". We chat briefly with Kate about her extensive career in the Ag space, but spend most of our time talking about family Farm succession. Kate brought up some great techniques around the process that I never even thought of. You can listen to the podcast here, and you can buy Kate's book here.
The Real Heroes
Just a brief mention before we kick into today’s trends.
Like many others I felt a mix of emotions with what occurred in Sydney late yesterday - anger, sadness and a real chill watching the footage, I honestly could not believe that something so horrific was happening in our beautiful country!.
What it did highlight was the incredible bravery shown by those bystanders, willing to put their own lives on the line to stop these monsters (…plenty of other words I would like to use).
To the Police Officers, Paramedics, Lifeguards and countless others who risked everything to help and protect others - you are truly amazing human beings and heroes.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives. May they rest in peace.

TODAY’S TRENDS
Monday is always a busy one, with plenty catching up from the weekend. We’ve seen some really good sales coming through, particularly in the Machinery & Equipment section. A number of members are finishing up harvest with only a couple of days to go, while a few yet to kick off.
WHAT SOLD
Laser Bucket, Tractor, Tipper Trailer, Scissor Lift, Field Bin, Rams, Bunker tarps and Oats.

What was in this mornings edition of The Farmers Club.Pundits in Agriculture say the rule of thumb is that you make 80 per cent of your income in 20 per cent of the years. So, according to Simon Quilty, in 2026, we are going to see the strongest Lamb prices ever and a strong Cattle market to boot. So in 2026, there is one big thing Livestock Farmers need to focus on. We wrote a story about it today.
We want you to stay on this green line (see the image below). 2026 will also be the information year. You are going to need valuable sources of information that you can sift through, and take benefit from to keep your business on the green line. The alternative is not great. We know it's not about what we do, it's about what we can do for you.
Is reverse innovation a thing? It could be that something we use today is not as good as something we had previously. Two models back, this Machine was a better version than the one we have today. Trumpy is onto it; he wants John Deere, CNH and the like to reverse-engineer their Machines to make them less complicated and less pricey. We wrote about some examples today.
We have been writing a lot lately about government waste and how easy it is for businesses and organisations to get government funding. In some cases, it's money for nothing. We ask the question in an article today, which companies and organisations that receive government funding would be commercially viable without it? As Warren Buffett said, "Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's swimming naked"
