What was in this mornings edition of The Farmers Club. It's interesting what one subscriber said when asked what it was like to be involved in a club; I never thought of this one about being involved in The Farmers Club. He said this: "The Farmers Club gives me a feeling of being part of something that is bigger than our immediate backyard". We sometimes forget that many Farmer's work alone or with 1 or 2 others, and spend countless hours within the boundary fence of their own Farm. It's easy to get insular and lose a sense of what's going on in the outside world. We love it when subscribers bring things up that we never ever thought of.
The fires have been devastating for many, and our heart goes out to those affected. There are some real awful stories, but there are some good/lucky stories, and we cover one of those in a bunch of snippets today. It's a real-life encounter of what it's like to live through a raging grass fire on a 44-degree day.
Ag Marketing guru Dan Schultz was at it again with some words of wisdom in his latest newsletter article. He runs through how we can use orthogonal thinking (don't worry, I had to look it up too), which is when we think outside the mainstream, looking for a different angle. Dan gives us clues on how we can apply this thinking to everything we do. It's real "green line" stuff, and we wrote an article about it today.
Ag awards - Are they worthwhile or a waste of time? What's your thoughts? We wrote an article on it today.
Have a great Monday night, and remember to subscribe to start each day fully informed.
