What was in this mornings edition of The Farmers Club.Lambpro's Tom Bull is concerned about the exodus of Sheep and how it might lead to some young talent switching over to Cropping or Cattle. We wrote today about how it's probably time for numbers to level out, but calls for a rebuild of the flock might put the current advantage in jeopardy. The Sheep industry might just be the envy industry in a couple of years' time.
One of our subscribers is 92 and is still as sharp as a tack. He says he reads our newsletter to keep the knowledge flow constant. We wrote a story yesterday about how cash is making a little bit of a comeback, and he rang me to say that he was not going to use his internet banking anymore and was heading back to paying for things with cash and cheques. He said there are too many people getting scammed…
I have a mate who is in the Freight game, and he has built a brilliant business. We have reported recently that a few high-profile general Freight companies have gone broke, and the report is that it's tough going. The industry has a lot of sameness about it, and not many have innovated with their business models. Not, my mate, he has done things very differently, and we outline what in an article today. It's a good read because you can learn how you can adapt your own model by following his script.
James J Hill was a successful Railway entrepreneur in the US when they were starting to develop the Midwest. He was successful because he did things differently (like my mate above) and didn't just focus on building the lines. There are lessons and clues in this story we wrote today for us to unpick.
Have a great Thursday, and subscribe to take up the lifetime offer.
