Farm Tender Daily - All the news for Thursday, the 22nd of January, 2026.
From all of us at Farm Tender, we hope you enjoy Australia Day and get the chance to slow down and enjoy some well-earned downtime over the long weekend.
Fire up the BBQ, throw on a lamb chop, crack a nice cold beverage, and take a moment to reflect on what being an Aussie is all about — mateship, resilience, and community and my word we have certainly seen the true meaning of all these three things of late.
Fly the flag high and enjoy the day. 🇦🇺
We will take a break Monday, but will be back on deck Tuesday, full steam ahead (Newsletter will return Tuesday).

🎙️PODCAST PREVIEW🎙️
ST JOHN CRANER (pronounced Sinjin)
St John is an interesting cat, and we got him on because we wanted to hear his story and what he does, but we also wanted to get into the minds of you guys (the Farmers) and better understand the decisions you make and why. You see St John has a business called Rural Sales Success that specifically trains salespeople how to serve their Farmer customers properly, not sell to them, but serve them. And as you will find out in the podcast, there is a difference. Listen to the podcast preview here on Apple and here
What was in this mornings edition of The Farmers Club.9 days to go - "The more you pay, the more you pay attention". We explain below. - We are putting our monthly subscription price up from $40 + GST to $45 + GST on February 1st. But if you subscribe before then, we promise to freeze the $40 + GST price for life. Yep, that's right, you become a Foundation Member, and you will never be subject to any price rises, ever. So if you have been thinking about signing up one day, now is the time. After February 1st, we will also be reducing this free version from 6 days to 2 days a week. Head to the bottom of the page and click upgrade, or if you are having any issues subscribing, ring, text or email (see below), and I can help you out.
Note - the Subscription is for The Farmers Club Newsletter only (not Farm Tender, just to clarify)."The more you pay, the more you pay attention" was a quote by St John Craner, who runs a business called Rural Sales Success. We just released the latest long-form podcast with St John (pronounced Sinjin), and it's a ripper. As far as his quote goes, he is always paying for mentoring and coaching so that he can keep improving and getting more "knowledged up". He is a true believe that good information comes at a cost. That's why we think our Farmers Club Newsletter is great value.
St John trains Ag salespeople on how to sell better to Farmers. But because St John is well-versed in the human psychology side of things, we got down to the nitty-gritty on how Farmers think and the processes they go through when buying something for the Farm. You need to listen to this one because you might get a better understanding of why you do what you do. It's a bit of a look-in-the-mirror exercise.
There's a few Ram and Bull stud breeders who can sell like buggery. They have this aura about them, where people just flock to buy from them. They also have the ability to prise more money out of buyers. We asked St John what's behind all this, and the answer will surprise you.
Eric Snodgrass is not only the best name in weather, but he is the most common-sense presenter going around. His latest video is a must-watch as it lays out what might happen, but he says things like "don't bet the Farm on the forecast, though". He also outlines the big freeze that is about to hit the US and how he bought shares in a generator company last week, which have already gone up 10 per cent……
Have a great Friday night, and subscribe to keep yourself fully informed.
