🌾HAY REPORT - “TOUGH TIMES” 🌾
For the fortnight up to the 8th April 2026. By Shane Ruyg
Without stating the obvious, conditions remain tight as the industry watches the Middle East situation closely. As most watching the media would see, today Iran has opened the Strait of Hormuz for a two-week window, great news for those ships carrying Fertiliser and Fuel through that passage.
The flow-on effect of the Middle East situation is already being felt in the hay market…..
Back in a fortnight……

What was in this mornings edition of The Farmers Club.Ag media is in for an overhaul
By Dwain Duxson
I just heard yesterday that the social media company LinkedIn wanted to buy our newsletter platform provider, Beehiiv. That might not mean much to you, but it’s a big pointer that the traditional media is changing right before our eyes. Beehiiv has come from nowhere to be one of the hottest businesses in the world right now, all because of one thing: newsletters. Now, I’m not saying this because we have one, I’m saying this because it’s going to become a huge trend that will supersede the traditional media as we know it. LinkedIn has become a platform for everyday people who write interesting stuff and are carving out an audience. LinkedIn wants to expand because that’s where the gold is. Beehiiv said no to the offer, as they think they have bigger fish to fry. The Ag media is changing, and in 5 years, we predict it will look completely different. Keep watching this space. Subscribe if you want to be a part of it.
