872 - Friday's Daily

Farm Tender Daily - All the news for Friday, the 24th of April, 2026.
I asked our Team to put together a few words on what Anzac Day means to them (see below). What does it mean to you?, what feeling does it give you when you hear the last post? or when you reflect on what our soldiers went through?, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Here are a few thoughts from our Team;
Ellen - “Anzac day to me is a time to reflect on how lucky we are because of the sacrifices made by those that fought. It’s also a day that we are either elated or shattered watching the Bombers take on the Pies!”.
Emma - “It’s a time to remember and honour the courage and sacrifice made by men and women who fought for our freedom”
Jim - “Anzac day to me is a day of reflection to the men and women who sacrificed for our country. The comradery and bond. It’s also about the freedom it has given us to be where we are today. A day to remember the bravery and the fallen ones”.
Shane - “A day of reflection on how bloody lucky we are to be Australians and honour those that have fought and fallen for our country”.
Paul - “Anzac Day is a day of remembrance for all of our fallen soldiers and what they had to sacrifice for us to live the life we live today. It’s a day to be proud and show respect for our country and all of the people who came before us that have made us the lucky country. Also to be grateful that we didn’t have to walk the same path as they did”.
Mike - “I never got to meet my grandfather. He was killed in the war. We go there to honour all fallen and to thank them for what we have today, we have never missed the dawn service nor have our children as we have passed it down through the generations and we are honoured that our kids want to continue the legacy of remembering this special day”.
My thoughts in closing;
Anzac Day always brings a mix of emotions — sadness when reflecting on the lives lost and the young men and women who went into battle, many without a choice; and at the same time, a deep sense of gratitude and relief to live where we do, with the freedoms we often take for granted.
We are incredibly privileged.
The courage, resilience, grit and, above all, the mateship shown is something truly remarkable. But it’s the depth of what they endured — and the sacrifices made without hesitation — that gave us the life we live today.
“Grateful” hardly feels like a strong enough word.
Whatever your day brings, I hope you all get to reflect and enjoy it with your mates - and maybe over a few ales.
Lest we forget.
Cheers and enjoy your day and weekend…….
