Feedlotting Masterclass - Feedlotting Lambs is not a new thing, but it’s growing in stature, and it’s becoming a viable business for those who do it well.
We wrote a story about it some time ago, and we got a mixed response as to its viability as a profit-making exercise. Some say it was an opportunistic pursuit only, and doing it full-time would spell disaster.
A couple of Farmers reached out and said they did it successfully all year round. I am certain that with the success of the Cattle Feedlotting industry, the Lamb players can make it work. So, what we need to do is tap into those who do it successfully all year round.
Learnings are the key here, and I saw where there is a 3 × 1 day masterclass on Feedlotting Lambs coming up at the end of the month. Host Gerard Rooney will give you a warts and all rundown on the wins and the mistakes he has made along his Feedlotting journey. I have booked myself for the Wednesday session, and you are right; I’m not a Feedlotter, but I am keen to learn more. And I would suggest anyone who is half keen to learn more about the art of Feedlotting Lambs to book a ticket for either of the 3 days, or you might miss out. See the flyer at the bottom of the page.
