Two-timing Tony or…… - The appointment of NFF CEO Tony Maher as the Australia Energy Infrastructure Commissioner is a very interesting one. It is interesting because many Farmers all over the Country are fighting against renewables infiltrating our Farming Land.

My initial thought was, "Is this guy jumping into bed with the enemy?" But then, thinking about it some more, I thought it would be either one of two things.

One, he has been faking it all along and is a true believer in the renewable stuff and has come out and is now batting for the other side. The cynic in me wants to head down that path.

But then I thought of number two. We have been crying out for more and more Ag people to enter these areas, which have a bearing on Ag. In most cases, the decision-makers are non-Ag people. So when you look at it like that, this could be a very productive appointment for Ag. He could become a referee and get some logic into the debate. Good luck working with old mate Bowen, though….. So, is it two-timing Tony or do you think it will be a good appointment? Reply to [email protected]
