Interesting Survey feedback - Out of all the Ag advocacy groups, by far, the VFF (Victorian Farmers Federation) is in the most turmoil and under the most pressure. Constant infighting has angered many people in what was once a respected organisation.
NFF President said at FarmTender2024 that it was sad to see the organisation how it is today, a group he was once involved in.
We have a partner called Ag Surveys who conducted the poll, and there was some interesting feedback. What surprised us was the support for the organisation as a whole, there is a long history there with Farmers. But it needed to get back to the grassroots and support Farmers more than they have been. In other words, there is a lot of goodwill there if it can get its act into gear.
Comments like, who else is going to stick up for Farmers? Farmers still need representatives. Who else is going to fight our issues? etc. There was plenty of commentary like this. But there were also some scathing comments, which means some people have had enough and feel the organisation isn’t relevant anymore. One wonders whether they can claw their way back as membership is dropping as well. They would need to make some changes soon. You can still take the survey here.
