Looking forward to this one… - Towards the end of September, Paula and I are heading to the Cunnamulla area for a 2-day Rangelands conference. I have dealt with Station people in the past on many occasions, but I just want to immerse myself in their world for a couple of days to see how things are going.

Before we started Farm Tender, we leased a place between the NSW/QLD border and Cunnamulla for three years, and I loved my trips up there three or four times a year. I remember I always stopped at the Barringun Pub for a couple of beers, and there was an older lady there who always used to serve, and she was a ripper to talk to. It’s changed hands now and going well I’m told.

We talk about it a bit through this or The Farmers Club newsletter about how important it is for us to get off our own dunghill and go and see how others live and go about it.

Check out the flyer at the bottom of the page and the link here to buy tickets. A part of the experience will be camping out for three nights and enjoying a feed and a few beers with others under the stars in a remote location. Also looking forward to the 1000+km drive up there. My only concern was that they wouldn't have internet at the campsite or in the shed where the event is being held, but they assured me they did. Phew, I was worried I might have missed a few newsletter deadlines….. Very much looking forward to this one. Have you been or are you going to something that is a bit away from what you normally do?
