Lease re-think -  We did a story on leasing out your Land the other day titled “The Trifecta of Goodness”(terrible name); you can read the article here. I had a few good replies and some that were an extension of the original article.

You can see a couple of social media replies at the bottom of the page. The first one, where Carly responded, indicates that there are plenty of ways to skin a cat for both the leaser and lessee. If there is a mutual agreement that a lease is going to happen, then it would be in both party's interest to have a meeting and bring each other’s needs and wants to the table. A follow-up meeting might be needed to finalise some of those needs and wants after some thinking time.

Carly pointed out some of the needs and wants, but there are many more, and it’s really only left to the imagination.

In the second feed below, Paul is right in the fact that there is much more Land rented/leased in the US than there is here. Reasons? More non-Farming investors. Steve made a good point that longer-term leases are needed to give young people more runway to make a success of things. Steve also pointed out that going forward, it might be the only way first gen Farmers will be able to do it. With the price of Land and the cost of interest, leasing is very attractive right now as a comparison. Can you please outline some imaginative lease things you have heard or done?
