We can't do a Rabbit job… - We have had heaps of replies to our story about the explosion in the population of Kangaroos. Most Farmers have said they have never seen them this bad.

We managed to control the Rabbits, but it's different with Kangaroos because Rabbits aren't native, and they don't sit proudly upon our coat of arms. So we can't do a Rabbit job on the Kangaroos, there would be a national uproar. Clearly, we have a problem.

I wrote an article in our Farmers Club newsletter about dissolving problems as opposed to solving problems. To get context, take a read here. So, dissolving a problem means that it won't ever be a problem again. How do we get to that point with Kangaroos? Some say fencing, but one person said this morning that the number can build up quickly within the fence if you are not vigilant. I don't know what the answer is. But whatever happens, it's going to have to be government-endorsed, and they would be super scared of upsetting their voting core.

Farmers are happy to coexist with a few Roos here and there, but when they are eating into the economic performance of the Farm, it starts becoming unpleasant. A couple of Farmers have mentioned that Ducks, Wombats and Cockatoos are also a problem for many. How can we dissolve or, at worst, in part, solve this Kangaroo problem we have?
