Welcome Phil Rowntree - Firstly, I just want to welcome Phil Rowntree to the Farm Tender team. Phil is based out of Moonta Bay in SA's famed Yorke Peninsula. Originally off a Farm, Phil moved into sales at a couple of Dealerships. Phil has a vast knowledge of new and used Machinery and is a ripping bloke to boot. Phil will be looking after the Dealership network Australia wide and also his network throughout SA. On behalf of the team, I hope you have a great time at Farm Tender Phil. You can contact Phil on 0428 659 056 or [email protected]
The Gravy Trainers - The much-maligned Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) terminated the contract of its longest-serving employee, Stuart McCullough, this week. 23 years he has been there in some capacity.
I saw this comment yesterday, "The gravy train has finally hit the buffers, ejecting its most longstanding passenger after riding it to the bitter end. And what a ride he's enjoyed - one less snout at the trough for Graziers to worry about - and the very best news this year. Hooray".
It wasn't an anonymous comment; they happily put their name to it. Many Woolgrowers were surprised when AWI created an overseas role for McCullough; some said he created it for himself.
There is a bit of this gravy training that goes on in Ag; I saw it first-hand at the NFF conference in Canberra, where a myriad of suited-up Agriculturalists were tarting themselves around for well-paid board positions or something similar. Many hop from gig to gig; some do provide value, and some are what you would call pretty cunning, smooth types. Do you know of any gravy Trainers in Ag? Reply to [email protected]
