Running events - Tomorrow is our 2nd annual FarmTender2024 - Entrepreneurs in Farming event, and I am very much looking forward to it. There are a few tickets available, and if you want to turn up on the day, that's fine also.

What have I learnt about running events? You really are putting the proverbials on the line when you do commit to something like this. You really need to plan these things at least 12 months out.

This one on Friday is in a new Woolshed at the Family, so it's taken some extra organising as it's not a designated Conference Centre and doesn't have all the ready-made things that go with it. Getting speakers is a bit of a science because I want to choose ones that I think can deliver value to the attendees. We have some wonderful speakers tomorrow that I think will.

Then there's the people. Getting people along is always the hardest thing. We have no sponsors, so we use the ticket price of $350 a head to cover all our costs. It's a big commitment for a Farmer to go. That's why we made it one day and on a Friday at this time of year. We aim to deliver value in the form of takeaways. By that, I mean to have them take away multiple ideas to use in their own businesses. And then there is the networking with like minded people. That is huge. I hope everyone has a great day, and for those who can't attend, there will be a video to buy afterwards. Farm Reply to [email protected]

Exclusive - AGCO Dealership restructure - Recent dealer meetings at Melbourne and Brisbane and via email today have confirmed that the AGCO dealer network is to be restructured pre-2028, with no small single Dealers under $20 million and no multi locations under $100 million AGCO turnover. Massey, Fendt and Valtra Dealers all wrapped up bundled and no other franchises allowed. I would be guessing that this would see a few longtime AGCO dealers pushed aside.

The Farmers Club headlines - Our 3 topics tomorrow are:
1) Today’s the day. We talk about the event and how there should be more of them
2) Farming is full of biases. We talk about challenging every one of those.
3) Do we factor opportunity cost in enough? We cover this topic.
Plus more. Join here for free or email reply “Yes”, and I will add you to the newsletter.
