I wonder - It would be a great skill to read people’s minds, to know what they’re thinking. I’m sure plenty of us have had a stab at it.

We were at the Eyre Peninsula Field Days last week, and I worked out that one way to attract attention to your site is to put the biggest bit of Machinery front and centre, and the crowd will flock in. Even better if it’s a new release hot off the assembly line.

Our site was just down from the New Holland site where they had the all-new and rather large CR11 Header on display, and every time I looked up, it had 20 or 30 Farmers milling around trying to assess where the $2 million (with the Front) value was.

Farmers are great observers, and they are constantly thinking about how that piece of Equipment can work on my Farm. That’s why Field Days have been popular over the years; Farmers get a chance to assess. But when looking down the row, it got me thinking what each would Farmer be thinking, things like, to dear, lots of hydraulics, how would I load this up in a low yielding crop, I want one, why is it twin-rotor, etc, etc. Looking at the monstrous Machine, I had plenty of different thoughts myself. We did a survey once asking, as a Farmer, what is the biggest problem you face? I think we had 120 replies, and apart from a few, each Farmer had isolated problems that were only specific to them. There were versions of the same problem, but not the same. It was so interesting. Are you a mind reader? And would you buy a 2 million dollar New Holland CR11 Header? Reply to [email protected]

Fertiliser Update
UREA:
This week we have heard that most suppliers are sold out of prompt Urea ex Geelong. As above, we has access to prompt collection out of Geelong at $685.00 + GST per tonne. Current market price is $690.00 + GST per tonne (All ports).
MAP & DAP:
We continue to encourage those that will require MAP or DAP between now and the end October into November, to get in touch and secure now to avoid missing out. We anticipate the price of the AP’s going up as the rebuy price has gone up $30.00 per tonne internationally.
We are hearing that some supplier don’t have MAP stock arriving until end of October. We have access to 200 tonne ex Geelong for prompt collection at $1,060.00 + GST per tonne. The market price is currently $1,060.00 + GST per tonne ex Geelong, Newcastle, Brisbane and Adelaide, $1,065.00 + GST per tonne ex Port Lincoln and Portland.
Chemical Update
The following fungicides is near impossible to source.
Tebucaonazole, Epoxiconazole, Prothiaconazole, Azoxystrobin 250 and Mancozeb. Azoxystrobin extra and Carbendazim are available but in very short supply.
There is still hesitation to buy Glyphosate, paraquat and MCPA 70, the price is steady currently and will not fall, with spring rain forecasted demand is expected to be excessive again like last season. Like last year, there will not be enough stock available, and prices will rise. There is a 10–12-week delivery time frame and freight prices have risen.
Glyphosate 450 price $4.10 + GST per litre and $5.10 for Gly 540. We have prompt stock available out of various locations in most states.
